Yoga

I am currently trained in Hatha, Yin and Pregnancy yoga. Currently this service is paused while it goes through some changes. What are the differences in Yin and Pregnancy yoga, you ask?

Yin yoga is a slower form of yoga, aimed at allowing the connective tissues to flex and open rather than building muscle strength. Postures are held for 3-5 minutes and the whole experience should be gentle and relaxing. Many find this form of yoga an excellent way to incorporate movement into a gentler, more restful day.

Pregnancy yoga is closer to Hatha yoga, but adapted to take into account the physiological changes that occur during pregnancy. Options for each pose are always given, and the aim is continuous movement throughout rather than any static postures.

All forms of yoga are suitable for beginners as I create my classes to be adaptable to everyone.

Sports Massage

Sports massage is great for easing muscle tension, improving blood circulation, and relaxing the body. If you regularly take part in exercise then massage can help reduce injury rate by helping the body recover in between sessions, helping you hit those PBs!

You don’t need to be an athlete to benefit from sports massage, though! Do you sit all day for work, hunched over a desk or staring at a computer for long periods of time? A lot of us have jobs that leave us in these stationery positions for hours at a time. Massage can help here, too, by relieving tension built up in the shoulders, neck and back.

Sports Therapy

Much like sports massage, you don’t need to be sporty to benefit from sports therapy. If you have any pains or ongoing issues then this is aimed at helping you return to full functionality.

We’ll carry out observational and functional tests to pin-point what might be causing problems, and from here we’ll make a plan of action to help remedy this.

Whether you’re struggling to do pull-ups without shoulder pain, or just want to get up from the couch without your back hurting, a sports therapy consultation might be the first step!
